Background:
Sokket was born in 2346 on the Romii Plains, a small agricultural center. In early 2347, for going AWOL and dating his daughter, Custle murdered Sokket’s brother Arjkan. Sokket’s grandfather Evajed transferred Arjkan’s katra into Sokket’s young mind.

Sokket went on and excelled in Engineering, graduating second in his class from the Engineering division of the Romulan Star Academy. After graduation, he received a posting as a Lieutenant (eq. rank Lt. j.g.) and Chief Engineer aboard the Romulan Scout Ship K’korrivor.

In 2372, Sokket was injured in the line of duty in a battle with the Gorn. While injured, he still pushed the ship’s engines to the max, allowing them to outrun a Gorn cruiser and return to Romulan space with much needed intelligence. He received a promotion to Centurion (eq. rank Lt.). Over the 4 years as Chief Engineer aboard the K’korrivor grew very possessive of the ship, affectionately calling it his “baby”.

In 2374, Sokket witnessed the execution of his parents for being “Reunificationists”, Romulans advocating peace with the Federation, especially Vulcans. Days after their execution, the USS Hunter attacked and captured the K’korrivor, renaming it the Shadow. Sokket defected to the Federation so he could continue to work with the ship that he loved.

In 2376, Sokket met Kalana Aldis, and the two began a romantic relationship. In 2377 the crew of the USS Shadow stole a Aehallh vessel from the Romulan D’Traxus facility. Custle’s warbird destroyed the Shadow and critically injured Sokket. He spent the next few months recuperating.

Aboard the Phantom, Sokket met his Uncle Dr. Tavarra for the first time. Tavarra informed Sokket of his brother’s katra inside his body. Tavarra was then transferred to a camp for prisoners of war.

In 2379 Sokket was promoted to Commander and Executive Officer with the transfer of Commander Rhese. He decided to ask Dr. Aldis to marry him at the wedding celebration for Eric Millard and Elizabeth Loviath. Unfortunately, the wedding was attacked by the Dark Mane Society and the Phantom’s senior staff was taken captive. During an escape, Eric’s two sons William and Johnathon were killed, a tragedy that Sokket blames on himself.

Following the capture, Kalana was transferred to become the head of the Counseling department at Tortuga. They held a very tearful goodbye, ending their relationship.

Due to the incarceration on Ramandu, the loss of Kalana, and the ongoing abduction of Captain Harras, Arjkan’s katra has started to become more active, taking over Sokket’s mind in moments of extreme feeling.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Sokket is prone to mood swings, going from a calm controlled sensitive man to an angry, passionate near madman in a matter of seconds. He has many ghosts and pains in his life, which he seems to control usually

I suggest further counseling sessions to fully understand what is afflicting him.

Romulan Empire

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

Physically, Romulans are almost identical to their Vulcan cousins. However, the Romulans lack the rigorous mental disciplines developed by the followers of Surak and this, combined with the more benign environmental conditions on Romulus, has greatly limited the physical capabilities of Romulans compared to their ancestors. As a species the Romulans are generally thought of as duplicitous, a reputation the actions of their government over the last decade has reinforced. In particular, the Romulan Intelligence Service, the Tal’Shiar, is renowned for its ruthlessness and deceitfulness.

The Romulans rapidly spread to their system’s second habitable planet, Remus. From there they founded an interstellar empire spanning many worlds. In the 2150′s this empire came into contact with what would come to be known as the Federation. Relations between Humans and Romulans continued to be poor, and eventually a brief but intense war resulted. Long after the war was ended, a Romulan Bird of Prey penetrated the Neutral Zone to test Federation defences. The ship was destroyed but this action marked a long ‘cold war’ between the two powers. Eventually this culminated in the Tomed Incident of 2311, when thousands of Federation lives where lost to the Romulans. The incident led to the Treaty of Algeron, which forbade the Federation from developing cloaking technology and reaffirmed the existence of the Neutral Zone. Subsequent to this the Romulans cut off all contact with the Federation.

Eventually the tension softened and the Romulans agreed that they would again take a more active role in intersteller relations. They acted in opposition to the Federation for some years, until the emergence of the Dominion threat in 2370.

In the Delta Quadrant, there exists a significant Romulan presence, lead by Tal’Shiar Admiral Custle tr’Khellian. The Romulans formed an alliance with the Falcarians immediately upon their arrival in the Delta Quadrant via the Seru Wormhole. They later formed an alliance with the Ssoran Hegemony and have since been allied with the Falcarian Allegiance and been behind every significant action against the Federation. In particular, Admiral Custle has a personal vendetta against Captain Reena Harras and has been hunting her since he first became aware of her presence.

Falcarian Rebels

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

The Falcarian Allegiance is an interstellar power in the Delta Quadrant with 52 star systems under it’s domination, from colonies to subjugated worlds. The fascist government, the Garos party, had been in power for more than 40 years when the monarchy was ousted in a bloody coup. The secret police, (HKL) act as the government’s instruments to ensure loyalty among it’s citizens and deal with matters of state security.

A Falcarian average height is approximately 6’3″. They have black antennae above the eyes where eyebrows would be. The species is telepathic, however the gift is not encouraged and most never master it. Falcarian strength can rival that of a Vulcan and they have a similar life span. As a people, Falcarians are very militarial. They are efficient soldiers. Cold, unsympathetic and often arrogant.

Falcarians born before the coup abolished the Monarchy used the word ‘STAR’ as a prefix to their family name. The current regime is against this tradition but it continues to be used by rebels and dissidents. The rebel movement to oust the Garos party and return the Monarchy to the empire has grown in strength since the return of the exiled crown prince, Sword Starheavens, to the Quadrant. Although the HKL attempt to control the rebelian, the movement has gained momentum by gathering supporters in the Narnian kingdoms and the Federation as well as within the Confederacy itself.

The presence of Falcarians is all but limited to the Delta Quadrant, with the only Falcarians to stray beyond the quadrant being the exiled prince, Sword Starheavens (now commanding officer of the USS Amon-Re) and a few of his supporters. Lieutenant Rona Starhawk is the only other Falcarian besides Starheavens to currently serve in Starfleet. Her sister Tami also served aboard the Amon-Re but was murdered by Admiral Custle of the Romulan Empire.

INFORMATION

Species: Falcarian
Classification: Bi-pedal Humanoid

Homeworld: Falkar
Location: Delta
Quadrant

Special Abilities:
Above average strength and agility make the Falcarians a formidable enemy. They also have telepathic tendancies although few attempt to master their skills.

Traits:
Aggresive, tall and strong.

Description:
Falcarians can be identified by their above average height (usually up to 6’7″) and strength, and also by their antennae which extend like eyebrows from immediately above the eye.

RES Baatine

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

The D’deridex Class Romulan Empire Starship Baatine was commissioned in 2360. The class is overly large – almost twice the size of Starfleet’s Galaxy Class ships – and has become known as the Romulans’ flagship class. Indeed few other classes have been identified by the Federation even after devoting signifcant resources in the 2360′s and 70′s to gathering intelligence on the Romulan Empire and fleet. The D’deridex Class’ size, however, is deceptive, as much of the ships volume is devoted to the transportation of ground troops and a large quantity of supporting equipment.

The name ‘Baatine’ is thought to mean ‘Conquest’. Little is known about the ship’s history, although it is known that she did see combat in the Dominion War before arriving in the Delta Quadrant following a failed attempt to capture the exiled falcarian prince, Captain Sword Starheavens. The ship is currently under the command of Romari t’Khellian, the daughter of the Tal’Shiar Admiral Custle t’Khellian.

The Baatine has become Custle’s personal flagship in the Delta Quadrant. Custle has risen to power swiftly in the Delta Quadrant. Despite arriving after the Romulan Empire’s intial forces, he has taken command and also managed to rise to power within the Falcarian Allegiance. While he continues to search for Captain Starheavens, the pursuit of whom originally brought him to the Delta Quadrant, his primary target is now Captain Reena Harras, commander of the USS Phantom. He and Harras had prior dealings when she was a junior officer in starfleet. The encounter resulted in the death of Custle’s only son. In addition, the capture of the RES Aehallh (USS Phantom) has become an embarrassment to him. As a consequence his thirst for revenge is second only to his thirst for power.
