Deep in the heart of Space, an icey comet skirted through the warmth of a distant sun, the sun's gravity pulling the comet closer and closer. In a moment, the comet changed course and started speeding back towards space. An aurora of colours burst to life and a massive gaping hole in space opened: A wormhole to the most unexplored part of the Galaxy - the Delta Quadrant.

Starfleet was quick to send investigative teams to this distant part of the galaxy and after establishing that the womrhole was stable, a space station was built in orbit of a nearby planet - New Terra - and named Deep Space Delta. A small fleet of ships quickly built up around the station and the Delta Quadrant Fleet was born.

That was 7 years ago, and a lot has changed since then...

Now, almost a decade after the discovery of the Deltan Wormhole, the fleet has been decimated in a war with a malevolent species called the Falcarians. All but a few ships have been destroyed or have disappeared, the station and the colony on New Terra have been taken by the Falcarian Confederacy and the wormhole has completely destablised, making all but the most basic communication with Starfleet impossible.

Stranded and alone, the Federation's remaining forces flee further into the quadrant, hoping against hope to find weapons, resources and above all, allies in the miriad of species that occupy nearby sectors.
