In the Dimension 642490, the Axis Powers won the Second World War by developing the Atom Bomb first and using it against London. 400 years later, Axis Earth is a dominiant military power that has conquored the Vulcans, Andorians, even the Romulans. They are allied to the Cardassians but are in conflict with the Klingons. The Axis developed trans-dimensional travel and sent the Scharnhorst into our dimension where they have established a base of operations in the F’asa Sector of the Delta Quadrant.

The Scharnhorst is a Reich class battlecruiser. Named after Gerhard Johann David von Scharnhorst, 1755 – 1813, a Prussian general. There have been two noted warships with the same name, one in each of the two earlier world wars. The Scharnhorst is commanded by Kapitän zur Weltraum Kurt Metterhausen.

At this point the majority of the Scharnhorst’s interaction has been with the USS Amon-Re-A as they are based in a distant part of the sector from the bulk of the fleet’s operations.

RES Baatine

The D’deridex Class Romulan Empire Starship Baatine was commissioned in 2360. The class is overly large – almost twice the size of Starfleet’s Galaxy Class ships – and has become known as the Romulans’ flagship class. Indeed few other classes have been identified by the Federation even after devoting signifcant resources in the 2360′s and 70′s to gathering intelligence on the Romulan Empire and fleet. The D’deridex Class’ size, however, is deceptive, as much of the ships volume is devoted to the transportation of ground troops and a large quantity of supporting equipment.

The name ‘Baatine’ is thought to mean ‘Conquest’. Little is known about the ship’s history, although it is known that she did see combat in the Dominion War before arriving in the Delta Quadrant following a failed attempt to capture the exiled falcarian prince, Captain Sword Starheavens. The ship is currently under the command of Romari t’Khellian, the daughter of the Tal’Shiar Admiral Custle t’Khellian.


The Baatine has become Custle’s personal flagship in the Delta Quadrant. Custle has risen to power swiftly in the Delta Quadrant. Despite arriving after the Romulan Empire’s intial forces, he has taken command and also managed to rise to power within the Falcarian Allegiance. While he continues to search for Captain Starheavens, the pursuit of whom originally brought him to the Delta Quadrant, his primary target is now Captain Reena Harras, commander of the USS Phantom. He and Harras had prior dealings when she was a junior officer in starfleet. The encounter resulted in the death of Custle’s only son. In addition, the capture of the RES Aehallh (USS Phantom) has become an embarrassment to him. As a consequence his thirst for revenge is second only to his thirst for power.
