Education:
2350-2355 Vulcan Science Academy
2356-2360 Starfleet Academy

Service History:
June 2360
Assigned to the USS Victory. Was noted as a disciplined and methodical scientist. Several first contacts as ship’s anthropologist

April 2364
Assigned to the USS Phoenix as chief science officer, with promotion to lieutenant.

January 2369
Reassigned to Deep Space Nine by request to study Bajoran culture; several papers written.

May 2371
Returned to starship duty; chief science officer of the USS Thunderchild; promoted to lieutenant commander. Part of Starfleet think tank on the Borg.

November 2373
After Thunderchild damaged during Battle of Sector 001 [First Contact], assigned to Starbase 375. Will be here for most of the Dominion War as part of the senior staff.

December 2375
Reassigned by Admiral Dougherty to be part of Ba’ku cultural study. First encounter with android, Lt. Commander Data which fascinated him to no end.

January 2376
Assigned to Starbase 11

March 2382
Assigned to USS Phantom as chief science officer. Prior to this assignment, studied records pertaining to this region of the Delta Quadrant.

Background:
Joseph-Francois always had an interest in science at an early age, however not the same field, geology, as his father. He was also interested in history since his colony had become infamous as a result of the Gorn massacre of the earlier colonists in the middle of the last century.

When he was of age, he left the colony when he was accepted by the Vulcan Science Academy. This was a growing experience in a culture where emotions were tightly suppressed. This taught him the discipline he would carry throughout his career. He majored in Anthropology (mostly because he was often intrigued about the alien colonists he had lived with, and the Gorn too).

He did not plan to enlist in Starfleet until a few of his classmates had applied for the 2356 school year. He managed to get accepted though his social circle was mostly limited to ‘science geeks’ and Vulcans. His relationship with T’Pring, a Vulcan student, was short lived when her parents found out about it.

While serving aboard the USS Phoenix in 2367, was involuntarily involved in Captain Benjamin Maxwell’s vendetta against the Cardassians. He was surprised, as much as anyone aboard, when Maxwell was eventually arrested by the USS Enterprise D, due in most part to his loyalty to his captain. An Internal Affairs review of the case cleared him of breach of regulations and he was allowed to remain aboard the Phoenix as her chief science officer. IAD did however put a notation that as a senior officer, Joseph-Francois did not actively attempt to stop Maxwell. This ultimately prevented him from future promotions in rank.

When the Cardassians pulled out of Bajor in 2369, Joseph-Francois took the opportunity to study their culture with a reassignment to Deep Space Nine. He published several papers on this species, including the connection between the Bajorans and the wormhole aliens (Prophets). He was not all that keen when Commander Benjamin Sisko became the ‘Emissary’, which made him an important figure to the Bajoran culture.

His return to Starship duty came to an abrupt end after two years when the USS Thunderchild was involved in the defense of Earth against the Borg attack of 2373. His ship was crippled but he managed to survive the ordeal with only a broken arm; thousands of others did not. With his starship laid up for repairs, he returned to the Bajoran sector when he was assigned to Starbase 375 under the command of Admiral William Ross. He remained here, in most part, during much of the Dominion War (He was to serve aboard the USS Valley Forge at one point, after Chin’toka, but the ship did not survive that battle.)

Admiral Dougherty had him reassigned to the Ba’ku cultural survey. They were operating in a cloaked ‘duck blind’ as this was meant to be a covert observation. Another IAD review also cleared Joseph-Francois of involvement in the plan to move the Ba’ku. Having two commanders (Maxwell and Dougherty) flaunt regulation for their own purposes had nearly killed his career and he vowed never again to be so blinded by the actions of others.

He served on Starbase 11 for the next six years, his service record does not state or list exact duties but his superiors noted him as an exceptional officer.

In 2382, he was sent 70,000 light years away to begin his new duties aboard the USS Phantom.

2342
Updates the Gorn defence grid procedural computer system. Response time by fleet and planetary defence systems reduced by 40%. Promoted to Gornar Command rank of Cobros Minor. Takes control of the colony.

2344
Transfer request to Gornar defence fleet accepted after several more years of peace and quiet on the colony. Takes up coveted first officer position aboard the Gorn cruiser Marcos’An.

2347
Marcos’An involved in battle with the Tholians over the control of a remote Gorn colony. Colony is lost and crew of the Marcos’An are blamed for their actions in the defence of the planet. Disgraced, the whole crew are demoted except for S’Raax’An whose requests to the captain of the vessel go unheard. Gorn Inquest Commission finds he is without blame.

2352
Marcos’An decommissioned. S’Raax’An transferred to cruiser V’Quar’An still as first officer. Makes it known he does not wish to take a command.

2353
Gorn Defence Command seconds S’Raax’An back to Gorn Tactical on the homeworld to assist in the re-organisation of the fleet. Welcomes move.

2374
Cestus ordered to investigate the wormhole to the Delta Quadrant in hopes of finding new resources for the Empire. A raid on a Federation vessel goes wrong. The Federation crew are killed and the Gorn flee, leaving S’Raax’An apparently for dead. He flees the ship in a barely working escape pod and soft-lands on the nearest inhabitable planet.

2379
S’Raax’An is discovered by Vice Admiral Cesare Machiavelli on a remote part of Ramandu, Narnia’s homeworld.

2380
S’Raax’An takes the duties of Assistant Chief Tactical Officer aboard the USS Phantom as a result of a good deal of help from Admiral Machiavelli.

Background:
Young for a Gorn, S’Raax’An’s career in the Gorn military system has been a series of ups and downs. He remains dedicated to the job, particularly in reference to tactical issues but never wanted command of a vessel.

During brief return trips to Gornar, S’Raax’An was partnered to four female Gorn to provide valuable offspring for the species and their military system. He does not know of the location of any of his offspring or their mothers as relations were “short”.

As with many Gorn, his life has been dedicated to the defence and expansion of the Empire. Indeed, S’Raax’An was one of the team that assisted in the redeployment of the fleet and the upgrading of several ships and planetary defence and response systems.

While the Empire saw him as good enough for command, S’Raax’An has felt betrayed that his requests to be placed in areas of experience during his service have fallen on deaf ears. He now believes the Empire has become misguided and too heavily focused on trying to play catch-up with the larger powers in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

His final mission in command of the Cestus appeared to prove to him that his crumbling trust in the Gorn Empire was true when his crew abandoned him to save themselves and the treasures they had gleaned from their prey.

He now finds himself alone and separated from everything with only a minimally functioning escape pod for home, a Starfleet computer for company and medical emergency rations for food.

2370-2374
Chief Engineer, Romulan Scout Ship K’korrivor

2374
Became Chief Engineer at the rank of Lieutenant on the USS Shadow

2375
Promoted to Lieutenant Commander

2377
Took part in the operation to take the USS Phantom. Transferred as the Chief Engineer.

2379
Promoted to Commander and First Officer of the USS Phantom

Decorations:
2377 – Awarded the Purple Heart for courage above and beyond the call of duty.

Background:
Sokket was born in 2346 on the Romii Plains, a small agricultural center. In early 2347, for going AWOL and dating his daughter, Custle murdered Sokket’s brother Arjkan. Sokket’s grandfather Evajed transferred Arjkan’s katra into Sokket’s young mind.

Sokket went on and excelled in Engineering, graduating second in his class from the Engineering division of the Romulan Star Academy. After graduation, he received a posting as a Lieutenant (eq. rank Lt. j.g.) and Chief Engineer aboard the Romulan Scout Ship K’korrivor.

In 2372, Sokket was injured in the line of duty in a battle with the Gorn. While injured, he still pushed the ship’s engines to the max, allowing them to outrun a Gorn cruiser and return to Romulan space with much needed intelligence. He received a promotion to Centurion (eq. rank Lt.). Over the 4 years as Chief Engineer aboard the K’korrivor grew very possessive of the ship, affectionately calling it his “baby”.

In 2374, Sokket witnessed the execution of his parents for being “Reunificationists”, Romulans advocating peace with the Federation, especially Vulcans. Days after their execution, the USS Hunter attacked and captured the K’korrivor, renaming it the Shadow. Sokket defected to the Federation so he could continue to work with the ship that he loved.

In 2376, Sokket met Kalana Aldis, and the two began a romantic relationship. In 2377 the crew of the USS Shadow stole a Aehallh vessel from the Romulan D’Traxus facility. Custle’s warbird destroyed the Shadow and critically injured Sokket. He spent the next few months recuperating.

Aboard the Phantom, Sokket met his Uncle Dr. Tavarra for the first time. Tavarra informed Sokket of his brother’s katra inside his body. Tavarra was then transferred to a camp for prisoners of war.

In 2379 Sokket was promoted to Commander and Executive Officer with the transfer of Commander Rhese. He decided to ask Dr. Aldis to marry him at the wedding celebration for Eric Millard and Elizabeth Loviath. Unfortunately, the wedding was attacked by the Dark Mane Society and the Phantom’s senior staff was taken captive. During an escape, Eric’s two sons William and Johnathon were killed, a tragedy that Sokket blames on himself.

Following the capture, Kalana was transferred to become the head of the Counseling department at Tortuga. They held a very tearful goodbye, ending their relationship.

Due to the incarceration on Ramandu, the loss of Kalana, and the ongoing abduction of Captain Harras, Arjkan’s katra has started to become more active, taking over Sokket’s mind in moments of extreme feeling.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Sokket is prone to mood swings, going from a calm controlled sensitive man to an angry, passionate near madman in a matter of seconds. He has many ghosts and pains in his life, which he seems to control usually

I suggest further counseling sessions to fully understand what is afflicting him.

June 2377
Led the crew of the USS Shadow in an attack to capture a Romulan Aehallh class ship (later renamed the USS Phantom) Became Commanding Officer of the Phantom when the USS Shadow was destroyed.

Background:
Reena Harras was born on Betazed in 2332. At the age of 16 she entered the Betazoid Institute of Psychology under parental pressure. Just prior to entering her second year at the Institute she met Ros Myal, a Bajoran on his way back to Bajor. She was headstrong and stubborn and ran away with him to Bajor. Shortly after she fell pregnant with her first child, Indara.

Reena and Myal fought side by side in the Bajoran Resistance and then the Maquis, but following the death of Reena’s second child, Chalandra, Indara ran away. The same year (2362) her husband also died. She had no-where to turn and no-one to turn to. It was only when she left Bajor on a Starfleet Vessel and was consequently sponsored for entry into Starfleet Academy by a crew member that she re-discovered a purpose. She joined Starfleet Academy, graduating 9th in her class in 2366.

Reena Harras went on to be a published Science Officer – her originality and ingenuity standing her in good stead. After 2 years of superb research aboard the USS Galileo she was promoted to Lt jg. Following this, her career began to take off. She was promoted, published and requested for service on several ships from then on. During her tour of duty on the USS Adelphi her CO recognised her natural leadership abilities and on return from the mission he recommended her for entry into Starfleet Command School. She graduated with Merit and was consequently assigned to the USS Wraith, which shortly thereafter became stranded in the Delta Quadrant.

It wasn’t long before Reena had her first chance at command, all be it the poisoned chalice command – the USS Shadow. She commanded the small Romulan vessel until she and her crew captured the USS Phantom, which she continues to command.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Headstrong and outgoing with an astonishing ingenuity and originality of thought. Reena Harras is a dedicated Starfleet Officer with a natural talent for leadership. She is scientifically curious with a thirst for knowledge.

Unusually, even though Harras’ daughter, Lt Cmdr Ros Indara, is in Starfleet she does not wish contact with her. A standing request on her record is that she not be assigned to the same ship. Harras resisted assignment to the USS Wraith, but was eventually persuaded by the opportunity for scientific study.

Decorations:
Good Conduct (4 Years of exemplary service)

Purple Heart
Silver Star (Operation Archer)

Background:
Being a member of the well represented Machiavelli family, and especially the daughter of a high ranking officer, has made Lucretia Machiavelli a pretty spoiled child. Her mother died when she was young, at the hands of a Tal’shiar officer during an attempt on her father’s life. Since then, as the only child of a single parent, she has become used to getting what she wants, when she wants it, whatever the cost. Only one thing is denied her: The ability to choose her partners!

Naturally, over the years, she has tried her father’s patience with her lovers, having more or less open affairs with numerous high officials and diplomats. After one such affair, she found her self offered a highly coveted place at the Starfleet Intelligence academy in Genoa, Italy. She, of course, took it and ended the affair her father disapproved of so adamantly. On graduation from the Academy, she was assigned to the Federation Embassy in the Klingon Capital. Her father thought that she would abstain from relationships with Klingons, and possibly do an adequate job. It was a pleasant surprise to him when she really took her new position with great enthusiasm and skill. Obtaining the first draft of the Klingon Attack Force composition for the Cardassian Campaign got her the Intelligence Star. In acquiring the plans, however, she almost paid the ultimate price when she was severely injured by Klingon Disrupters. The intervention of her father saved her life, and she returned to duty after a period of recuperation. The scars are still visible, to those who have clearance to look.

It is obvious to most that Lucretia’s career has been blessed by the hand of her father, as she rose swiftly through the ranks and was given some of the most desirable assignments available. However, she is very strong-willed and has still managed to forge a name for herself, despite her father’s interference. Her natural affinity for information gathering and intelligence operations has never been more evident than in the latter part of her career. Separated from the fleet, she has used her skills to ensure that a Federation presence is maintained in the heart of enemy territory.

Beyond her career, her love for high fashion has ensured that her wardrobe is always full as she refuses to wear the same outfit twice. As her father always foots the bill, she has a talent for not knowing the cost of her lifestyle. She has an impressively eclectic taste in attire and a fabulous sense of style that sees not only numerous combinations of clothing, but also numerous hairstyles. She has also learned to love exotic plants, and always looks out for specimens to add to her collection. Most are extremely rare, and some are considered to be restricted, as they produce various toxins. Where she picks up some of her more dangerous examples, and how she manages to pass them through inspections, is a well kept secret!

Despite a propensity of lovers, Lucretia has never been anywhere close to having a lasting relationship, as deep down, she does not want to anger her father. Unlike her father, she has very cordial relationship with her Uncle, Senator Guiseppe Machiavelli. She is, like all the family, a devout Catholic.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Lucretia is a victim of her upbringing: A spoiled child, pampered by a caring and powerful father, leaves her with many irritating traits. Lucretia has a well developed sense of authority and a respect for the chain of command, but is also independently minded and has plenty ideas of her own. This often leads her to go over her superiors to a higher ranking officer, to make herself heard. Not always an undesirable quality, but it does make her unpopular with middle echelon officers. She has been know to have temper tantrums, when she doesn’t get her way, but is generally easy going, a good friend, and easily associates with any group of people. She is a shrewd judge of character.

September 2369 – 22th January 2370
Assigned to the USS London NCC-2778 an Excelsior Class Starship upon graduation from the Academy as a Helm Officer, was involved in the Serepia Incident. The Serepia incident occurred when the USS London made first contact with the Serepian’s during that civilisations first successful warp drive test. A first contact team was assembled of which Jarod was included so as to gain experience of how to handle them in practice. The initial phase contact passed without incident however the first contact nearly turned to disaster when the universal translator mis-pronucned a word which offended the Serepian’s, it was Jarod’s ability to learn a new language quickly which made him realise the universal translator had made a mistake and so alert Captain Reynolds as to the reason as to why the contact was turning sour.

22nd January 2370 – 2nd January 2371
Following actions during the Serepia Incident was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade upon the recommendation of Captain Reynolds and reassigned as an Operations officer on Starbase Deep Space One, located near Hlyrian space.

2nd January 2371 – 2nd January 2373
Following an assignment of 9 months on Deep Space One he was transferred upon request to the USS Challanger NCC-57231 a Nebula Class which was about to start a tour of duty exploring out beyond explored space. During his time onboard the ship successful first contact was made with the Zaldarian’s and the Xolian’s. The Challanger spend several months in 2272 in the Ultherian sector watching from a distance as the Ultherian’s made their first tentative steps into the space age when they successfully managed to land a craft on one of the moons orbiting their planet. Shortly after 2373 started he received notification that he was being recalled to be reassigned to a new Federation Starbase located deep in the Delta Quadrant which had only recently been open to exploration due to the discovery of a stable wormhole from the Alpha Quadrant that led there.

15th Januaury 2373
Received notification of his promotion to Lieutenant whilst on route to DS-Delta

1st Febuary 2373 – 2374
Assumed his new position on the Federation Starbase Deep Space Delta as the stations Communications Chief, his posting did not last long however as the station was destroyed shortly after him being assigned there. The loss of DS-Delta was related to an attack by a space borne creature known simply as the Entity which left a wave of destruction in it’s tracks. When the entity passed through the wormhole it caused the wormhole to become unstable and virtually all contact was lost with Starfleet Command and the Federation. After the loss of DS-Delta was reassigned for a short time to the USS Hunter as Communications Chief before being reassigned as the Starfleet Liaison during the construction of ODS-Delta 2.

2374 – 2377
Served on ODS Delta 2 in the capacity of Communications Chief until that station too was lost. Was able to maintain sporadic contact with starfleet when fluctuations in the wormhole allowed communication to be established. Due to damage to the stations emergency beam out transporters and high radiation levels, he had to use the runabout USS Colorado to escape along with several crewmen instead of transporting to one of the rescue ships.

2377 – 2380
Captured by enemy forces in the Runabout USS Colorado. The rest of the survivors aboard the shuttle were reportedly executed, however, Lieutenant Scott underwent imprisonment and torture at the hands of his Romulan captors. At the start, torture was used to extract information about Starfleet resources operating in the region. His former position as Communications Chief on ODS-D2 meant that he had information on several starships operating in the region. Various methods were used to extract information, including the use of numerous drugs, beatings, pain delivery devices such as Klingon pain sticks and a device similar to the agoniser used in the mirror universe which was visited by crews from the USS Enterprise and Deep Space Nine. He was kept alive in later years to be used as a test subject in numerous Tal’Shiar experiments, or as a possible future prisoner exchange.

February 2380
Escaped from a Romulan encampment along with Captain Reena Harras, aided by General Memnon Starhawk.

May 2380
Promoted to Lieutenant Commander and the Chief Operations Officer aboard the USS Phantom, at the specific request of Captain Reena Harras.

Background:
Born on New Gandhi a few days after it had been fully terraformed. His parents had been the lead terrarformers on in the last stages of its terraformation and as such where able to claim one of the most picturesque parts on the planet on the shores of the Sea of Reflections which where in the shadow of the Mount Zeus which towered some thirty six thousand feet above sea level.

For the first few years of his life Jarod was one of only a handful of children on New Gandhi, this changed later as citizens from accross the Federation made New Gandhi their home. By the time he was five the population had expanded from a couple of hundred scientists and engineers into a population of over five thousand.

During the summer holidays whilst he was at high school he began to explorethe region around the base of Mount Zeus, following a minor earthquake whilst on one of these explorations he and his friends disocvered an opening in the mountain which had not been there on previous visit. Exploring the caves they discovered the reminants of a civillisation that resided on this planet eons ago. It was this discovery that made Jarod decide to join Starfleet and not follow in his parents footsteps as a terraforming enginner. When a team of anthropolgist arrived he spent every free minute with them learning about the ruins that he had helped to discover.

In 2365 when he was 15 he sat the Starfleet academy entrance exam and to his great suprise was accepted in the class which was scheduled to start in september of that year. He said goodbye to his friends and made his way to Earth onboard the USS Assimov a science ship which was on-route to Earth to be decommissioned. He settled quickly into life on Earth and enjoyed the cosmopolitian life that San Francisco afforded. During his third year he was assigned shipboard duty like all starfleet cadets, he was intially asssigned to the USS Tolstoy that assignment was cut short early in 2368 when the Tolstoy was destoyed at the battle of Wolf 359. One of only a handful of survivors from that ship he was reassigned to the USS London for the remainder of the academy year. He impressed Captain Reynolds enough that he requested Jarod be assigned to the London upon his graduation.

Counsellor’s Notes:
2380: Lieutenant Commander Scott shows the typical psychological systems of long term imprisonment and torture. He has become insular. frequently locking himself in his quarters for days on end. He also exhibits a strong desire not to discuss what happened to him during his incarceration. I, however, have managed to force him to reveal a few details, the most disturbing of which is that he appears to have been mentally/telepathically raped. This event and its consequences are preventing him from moving along the road to recovery. If I can get him to come to terms with that, the rest will be far easier.

Chief Medical Officer’s Notes:
2380: Scans of Lieutenant Commander Scott taken after his escape from the Romulan Internment camp reveal the presence of a highly sophisticated piece of bio-mechanical engineering which has been intertwined into his spinothalmic system. The spinothalmic system in the human body is used for the transmissions of pain signals to the brain. Currently no medical procedure exists which would allow its safe removal. Lieutenant Commander Scott will have to live with the device implanted in his brain, or at least until such time as a method of extracting the device without causing serious harm can be developed.

2377 – Awarded the Delta Star for exemplary performance against unfavourable odds.

Background:
Born on Q’onoS in 2345, Draken lead a standard life of the times. Growing up hearing great stories of Klingon honor and the virtue of his elders, he was the apple of his House’s eye, and rightfully trained as quickly as possible in the ways of the warrior.

This was all shattered in 2350, when at the age of five, a Terran Diplomat from Starfleet, one Nicholas Karwinston, was brought to stay in their home during negotiations as an act of favor from the Klingon High Council on their house.

Quickly taking a liking to the quick witted and broad grinned young man, Draken would sit with him for hours, and listen to whatever stories or histories he would share. These quickly became objects of obsession to Draken, and he absorbed whatever information he could on the early cultures of the world, especially those of the various Pagan religions, the Celts, Romans, and Egyptians being his favorites.

Adopting a version of such religions, Draken drifted away from his Klingon roots, and began spending much more time in the presence of the many other species that visited the High Council for any number of reasons. Yet finally, the one thing that finally broke him away from his House as a whole, was that of meeting the Legendary Worf, Son of Mogh.

Sneaking aboard a Federation freighter, he made his way to New San Francisco, but mainly, the Academy. Once there, he passed the entrance exams with ease, and majored in History of the Federation, Advanced Helm Control and Stellar Cartography.

For his advanced work in Piloting, and outstanding scores in every field of such, he was chosen as a handful of students to partake in a post-Academy course of specialized piloting. The course lasted roughly two years, and greatly increased his skill with both capital ships, mainly the Galaxy-Class and the Intrepid-Class, and all of the currently commissioned class of shuttle, focusing mainly on the Type 9 and Peregrine classes.

He was soon after assigned to the San Francisco shipyards, and was eventually given a more active role assigned to the USS Wraith as a helmsmen. Finally, in 2373 he was reassigned to the New Terra Colony as a transport pilot, probably not the best job for a Klingon, even one that loved philosophy. Thus, after two years of such a boring task, he was again re-assigned – to the mysterious USS Shadow.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Although still subject to the typical Klingon mood swings and just outright crankiness, Draken is far from the typical Klingon. He loves a good joke and is willing to let his own pride be hurt if it will get a laugh out of someone. He is naturally curious with an incredible hunger for any type of knowledge.
