Service History:
2330
Assigned to Gorn Tactical facility on Gornar as security officer.

2334
Rises to command security at Gornar Tactical facility following four years of outstanding duty and assistance in improving planetary defence systems.

2326
Transfers to a small off-world colony as Head of Defence Systems.

2337
Colony attacked by the Tholians. S’Raax’An is responsible for organising the defence of the colony. His actions save many lives but he is passed over for any form of promotion.

2342
Updates the Gorn defence grid procedural computer system. Response time by fleet and planetary defence systems reduced by 40%. Promoted to Gornar Command rank of Cobros Minor. Takes control of the colony.

2344
Transfer request to Gornar defence fleet accepted after several more years of peace and quiet on the colony. Takes up coveted first officer position aboard the Gorn cruiser Marcos’An.

2347
Marcos’An involved in battle with the Tholians over the control of a remote Gorn colony. Colony is lost and crew of the Marcos’An are blamed for their actions in the defence of the planet. Disgraced, the whole crew are demoted except for S’Raax’An whose requests to the captain of the vessel go unheard. Gorn Inquest Commission finds he is without blame.

2352
Marcos’An decommissioned. S’Raax’An transferred to cruiser V’Quar’An still as first officer. Makes it known he does not wish to take a command.

2353
Gorn Defence Command seconds S’Raax’An back to Gorn Tactical on the homeworld to assist in the re-organisation of the fleet. Welcomes move.

2355
S’Raax’An transferred back to the fleet in command of the V’Quar’An after the murder of its commanding officer. Gorn forces are now more successfully deployed in their sector.

2360
Ordered to take control of the Federation border fleet.

2362
Offered command of the Gorn Heavy Cruiser Cestus. Feels out of his depth with further promotion but is ordered to take the vessel. Gains rank of Cobros Major.

2367
After five uneventful years of defending the borders of the Gorn Empire as well as many successful raids on outlying Federation, Romulan, Klingon and Tholian colonies, oversees and assists in the redesign and refit of the Cestus.

2369
Given rank of Cobros Avatar again unwanted. Attempts to resign from the fleet or at minimum be returned to a tactical role aboard the vessel. Request declined.

2374
Cestus ordered to investigate the wormhole to the Delta Quadrant in hopes of finding new resources for the Empire. A raid on a Federation vessel goes wrong. The Federation crew are killed and the Gorn flee, leaving S’Raax’An apparently for dead. He flees the ship in a barely working escape pod and soft-lands on the nearest inhabitable planet.

2379
S’Raax’An is discovered by Vice Admiral Cesare Machiavelli on a remote part of Ramandu, Narnia’s homeworld.

2380
S’Raax’An takes the duties of Assistant Chief Tactical Officer aboard the USS Phantom as a result of a good deal of help from Admiral Machiavelli.

Background:
Young for a Gorn, S’Raax’An’s career in the Gorn military system has been a series of ups and downs. He remains dedicated to the job, particularly in reference to tactical issues but never wanted command of a vessel.

During brief return trips to Gornar, S’Raax’An was partnered to four female Gorn to provide valuable offspring for the species and their military system. He does not know of the location of any of his offspring or their mothers as relations were “short”.

As with many Gorn, his life has been dedicated to the defence and expansion of the Empire. Indeed, S’Raax’An was one of the team that assisted in the redeployment of the fleet and the upgrading of several ships and planetary defence and response systems.

While the Empire saw him as good enough for command, S’Raax’An has felt betrayed that his requests to be placed in areas of experience during his service have fallen on deaf ears. He now believes the Empire has become misguided and too heavily focused on trying to play catch-up with the larger powers in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

His final mission in command of the Cestus appeared to prove to him that his crumbling trust in the Gorn Empire was true when his crew abandoned him to save themselves and the treasures they had gleaned from their prey.

He now finds himself alone and separated from everything with only a minimally functioning escape pod for home, a Starfleet computer for company and medical emergency rations for food.
