Background:
Born on Q’onoS in 2345, Draken lead a standard life of the times. Growing up hearing great stories of Klingon honor and the virtue of his elders, he was the apple of his House’s eye, and rightfully trained as quickly as possible in the ways of the warrior.

This was all shattered in 2350, when at the age of five, a Terran Diplomat from Starfleet, one Nicholas Karwinston, was brought to stay in their home during negotiations as an act of favor from the Klingon High Council on their house.

Quickly taking a liking to the quick witted and broad grinned young man, Draken would sit with him for hours, and listen to whatever stories or histories he would share. These quickly became objects of obsession to Draken, and he absorbed whatever information he could on the early cultures of the world, especially those of the various Pagan religions, the Celts, Romans, and Egyptians being his favorites.

Adopting a version of such religions, Draken drifted away from his Klingon roots, and began spending much more time in the presence of the many other species that visited the High Council for any number of reasons. Yet finally, the one thing that finally broke him away from his House as a whole, was that of meeting the Legendary Worf, Son of Mogh.

Sneaking aboard a Federation freighter, he made his way to New San Francisco, but mainly, the Academy. Once there, he passed the entrance exams with ease, and majored in History of the Federation, Advanced Helm Control and Stellar Cartography.

For his advanced work in Piloting, and outstanding scores in every field of such, he was chosen as a handful of students to partake in a post-Academy course of specialized piloting. The course lasted roughly two years, and greatly increased his skill with both capital ships, mainly the Galaxy-Class and the Intrepid-Class, and all of the currently commissioned class of shuttle, focusing mainly on the Type 9 and Peregrine classes.

He was soon after assigned to the San Francisco shipyards, and was eventually given a more active role assigned to the USS Wraith as a helmsmen. Finally, in 2373 he was reassigned to the New Terra Colony as a transport pilot, probably not the best job for a Klingon, even one that loved philosophy. Thus, after two years of such a boring task, he was again re-assigned – to the mysterious USS Shadow.

Counsellor’s Notes:
Although still subject to the typical Klingon mood swings and just outright crankiness, Draken is far from the typical Klingon. He loves a good joke and is willing to let his own pride be hurt if it will get a laugh out of someone. He is naturally curious with an incredible hunger for any type of knowledge.
